Roger Flowerdew, CA, CEO
Mr. Roger Flowerdew is the Chief Executive Officer of Radient Techologies Inc., a Vancouver based company that is an expert in the extraction, purification and isolation of valuable naturally derived chemicals that are used to manufacture pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food and cosmetic products. Prior to his appointment with Radient, Mr. Flowerdew was Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and a Director of Cognetix, Inc., a Salt Lake City based drug discovery company. He is a Chartered Accountant, and holds his Bachelors of Arts from Simon Fraser University. He operated his own management and finance consultancy from 1986 – 2003 and has provided executive management services in the areas of corporate finance, marketing and sales, product development, strategic planning, and corporate reorganization to life sciences and information technology companies in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Prior to establishing his consultancy, Mr. Flowerdew worked for MacMillan Bloedel Ltd., a multinational forest products company and with Thorne Riddell (now KPMG Canada) where he attained his Chartered Accountant designation.
Steven Splinter, PhD, President, CEO and Director
Dr. Steven Splinter most recently served as Director of Chemical & Environmental Processes at BC Research Inc. in Vancouver, where he built and managed a team of scientists, engineers and technologists providing contract R&D; services to various clients in the area of chemical and electrochemical process development. His duties involved strategic planning, technical assessment of new technology opportunities, sales & marketing and project management. Dr. Splinter is an expert in interfacial phenomena, having earned a Ph.D. in Engineering Science in 1994. Dr. Splinter has authored or co-authored over 25 scientific publications and two patents and has been invited speaker at international science conferences. Dr. Splinter was awarded a prestigious 5NR Science Award for Leadership in Sustainable Development, along with the MAP inventors, for his work in advancing MAP.
John Dickey, MBA, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. John Dickey brings to Radient a wealth of expertise in business strategy development and execution, including joint venture and licensing valuation and negotiations, and sales, marketing and business development. Prior to joining Radient, Mr. Dickey worked as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group where he developed strategic solutions for a broad range of global Fortune 500 clients. He has also held various management positions in large companies and worked as an investment banker. Mr. Dickey holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Kevin Dodds, CMA, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Kevin Dodds brings 10 years of corporate finance, international trade finance, and accounting expertise to Radient. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of NORAM Engineering and Constructors Ltd., and is a Director of Membrane Reactor Technologies, a private hydrogen technology based company.
Jamie Storsley, MSc, Business Manager
Ms. Storsley has an MSc in Food Science and is a graduate from the WestLink Technology Commercialization Internship Program. Her diverse scientific and business development background allows her to be integrally involved in all aspects of Radient operations.
Directors
George Cook, PEng, Director
Mr. George Cook is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of NORAM Engineering and Constructors Ltd. He has guided the development of NORAM into one of the most successful engineering and technology development companies in the Pacific Northwest. NORAM’s interest in chemistry-based technologies makes them a strategic shareholder for Radient.
Armand Lavoie, MBA, PAg, Director
Mr. Armand Lavoie is Vice President Western Canada for Foragen Technologies Management Inc., where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and managing investments in new technologies. Prior to joining Foragen, he was a KPMG consultant where he worked extensively with companies in their start-up, early commercialisation and growth phases. Many of these companies were focussed on agricultural technologies including nutraceuticals and functional food.
Ian Newton , BSc (Hons), Director
Mr. Ian Newton is the principal of Ceres Consulting and an internationally recognized expert in human nutrition. Ian’s experience in agriculture and in the food and pharmaceutical industries in North America is extensive. He received his education in New Zealand, graduating from the University of New Zealand with Science Degrees in Botany and Zoology. He completed additional postgraduate research before immigrating to North America, joining Hoffmann-La Roche Canada in 1979. He held various positions with the company, including Director, Agricultural Division; Director, Chemical Marketing; and, Group Director, Human Nutrition. In 1996 Ian relocated to Roche Vitamins Inc. USA responsible for Regulatory Affairs and Business Development. He established Ceres Consulting in 2004.
Jean-François Huc , MBA, Director
Mr. Jean-François Huc has broad experience in the pharmaceuticals and health care
industries. Most recently he was CEO of TGN Biotech Inc., in Quebec City.
Prior to TGN, Mr. Huc was the founder and CEO of MedExact, a company that
provided web-based promotional services to some of the world’s largest
pharmaceutical companies, and which was sold to Cegedim in 2002. Prior to
MedExact, Mr. Huc was the Vice President of Alliance Management for
Sanofi-Synthelabo S.A. in Paris, managing strategic alliances with Bristol
Myers Squibb, Organon and Debiopharm. Prior to Sanofi, he was a partner at
Arthur D. Little, a leading management consulting firm, and the Director of
its healthcare practice in France. He holds an M.B.A. from York University
in Toronto, and an Honours B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of
Western Ontario.
