 | | NORAM Engineering and Constructors Ltd. Radient has signed a strategic alliance agreement with NORAM Engineering and Constructors Ltd., an engineering and technology development company based in Vancouver. An early investor in Radient, NORAM specialises in the development, commercialisation and supply of leading edge processes and environmental technologies. In the late 1980’s, NORAM created a patented electrophilic reactor for the production of mononitrobenzene (MNB), an important precursor in the production of polyurethane. Today, more than half of the world’s polyurethane is produced from MNB manufactured in facilities using NORAM’s process.

 | | BC Research Inc. Radient was founded as a spin-off of Vancouver-based BC Research Inc. BC Research operates the “Technology Integrator™” business model, creating spin-off technology ventures from a base contract sciences platform. Radient Technologies is the third such spin-off to be created by BC Research; the first two were Cellfor Inc., a clonal reforestation firm and Azure Dynamics Inc., a commercial hybrid vehicle designer and assembler. Current tenants at the BC Research Complex in Vancouver include Azure, Dynamotive Energy Systems, Lignol Innovations, Cardiome Pharmaceutical, Northern Lipids, and Micrologix Biotech.
BC Research’s Contract Sciences division focuses on providing client-specific science services primarily in the biological and chemical sciences. Core scientific strengths are complemented by additional expertise in environment, health, and safety; energy technology and market assessment; and ergonomics and human factors analysis. The 185,000 square foot BC Research Complex is located on the University of British Columbia Endowment Lands, a short drive away from downtown Vancouver. BC Research has fully equipped chemistry, biology and toxicology laboratories, a high head-room pilot plant, and full machine and other trade shop facilities.
